Baqubah Technical College Assessed for Renovations
BAQUBAH, Iraq - The 1st Battalion, 10th Infantry, assessed Baqubah Technical College here March 5 in order to recommend infrastructure improvements. Currently there is a $107,000 contract to upgrade the campus" lighting, plumbing and security. The college specializes in training mechanics and electricians.

Iraqi Security Forces Secure UXO Site
DIBIS, Iraq -- Acting on a tip from an Iraqi citizen, Iraqi security forces secured an unexploded ordnance (UXO) site here Feb. 19. Insurgents are suspected of using materials from the site to make improvised explosive devices. Explosive ordnance disposal personnel have been tasked to destroy the UXOs.

Coalition Forces Train Iraqi Border Police
CASTLE HUSSEIN, Iraq - Troops of the 278th Regimental Combat Team trained Iraqi Border Police in basic first aid here March 5.

Provincial JCC Directors Meeting Held
TIKRIT, Iraq -- Coalition Forces, Iraqi Army and community leaders held the first in a series of monthly Joint Coordination Center (JCC) Directors meetings here March 3. The directors discussed the status, issues and concerns of their provincial coordination efforts.

A Truly Grand Opening
BALAD, Iraq -- The grand opening of the Tedmur Girls Primary School here Feb. 23 was a scene of celebration as a crowd of Iraqi school children, Iraqi government officials, and Iraqi security forces personnel applauded Coalition Forces soldiers arriving for the ceremony. The school is among the many Iraqi schools renovated or built with the help of Coalition Forces.

BALAD, Iraq - Coalition Forces captured an insurgent and bomb-making materials while searching vehicles at a traffic control point here Feb. 22.

Water Project on Schedule
MUSTAFA, Iraq -- Iraqi Environmental and Atmospheric Agency and Coalition Forces leaders met to assess the progress of the Mustafa Water Project here Feb. 28. The project is on schedule to be completed this spring.
