MARINE CORPS AIR GROUND COMBAT CENTER TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif. – Marines with 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, will be awarded two Silver Star Medals and two Bronze Star Medals, during an award ceremony held at LCpl. Torrey L. Gray Field, Tuesday.

Lt. Gen. John A. Toolan, I Marine Expeditionary Force Commanding General, will award the Silver Star Medal will to 1st Lt. Kenneth A. Conover III and Sgt. Kenneth R. Rick, for their heroic actions, which embodied bold initiative, undaunted courage, and complete dedication to duty while deployed to Afghanistan in June of 2012.

Toolan will also award the Bronze Star Medal, with Combat ‘V’ to SSgt. Joshua R. Brodrick and Sgt. Nicholas N. Brandau for their valiant achievements in connection with combat operations against the enemy while deployed to Afghanistan in June of 2012.
