NANGARHAR PROVINCE, Afghanistan - Afghan National Security Forces detained four suspected insurgents during a village clearing operation in Khogyani district Dec. 24.<br /> <br /> Commandos with 1st Special Operations Kandak arrested the suspected insurgents after interviewing some of the villagers. <br /> <br /> “We conducted clearing operations [in Chino village] to eliminate insurgent activities and take back places under Taliban control,” said Lt. Col. Mussoud Stanakzai, 1st SOK commander. <br /> <br /> These counterinsurgency missions assist national and local police in their efforts to increase security, governance and development.<br /> <br /> “We have secured this area so that people can live peacefully and safely from Taliban threat,” said Stanakzai.<br /> <br /> All detainees were transferred to Khogyani district National Directorate of Security officials.
