Afghan Local Police seize Taliban weapons cache in Wardak

WARDAK PROVINCE, Afghanistan – Mohammad Agha district Afghan Local Police discovered a weapons cache Dec. 12 during a presence patrol near the Durwo village.<br /> <br /> ALP found four 82 mm mortar rounds, more than 500 rounds of anti-aircraft ammunition, three fuses, and one anti-personnel mine. <br /> <br /> In the past, insurgents used buildings in the village as bed down locations and to store their weapons, ammunition and explosives, said the district’s ALP commander.<br /> <br /> ALP also found several abandoned compounds containing multiple false walls indicating insurgents had been there and have most likely fled the area.
