LOGAR PROVINCE, Afghanistan – Afghan Local Police detained two suspected insurgents in Mohammad Agah District, Logar province, Dec. 4.<br /> <br /> The ALP made the arrests near the Ahmadzai village while conducting a route reconnaissance to provide security along village roads and deter emplacement of improvised explosive devices. <br /> <br /> As the ALP moved along the eastern side of Ahmadzai village, the two suspects attacked them. The ALP returned fire and arrested the suspects in the process. <br /> <br /> “We saw the two insurgent suspects shooting and later throwing their weapons in the river,” said an ALP representative. <br /> <br /> Both suspects will be taken to the provincial capital to await their trial, said Capt. Abdul Wakil, district police chief.
