455 EMSG moves to hardened facility

BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan - The 455th Expeditionary Mission Support Group staff recently relocated from their current expeditionary tent in Camp Cunningham to a new hardened facility here next to the old Russian control tower Nov. 15-17, 2013.

The previous 455 EMSG facilities have been around since 2005. This is a major milestone to transition the group from a tent structure into a more secure facility specifically designed to house the group.

“We are one of the last remaining units, and the last group level command team, on Bagram that were still residing in temporary combat shelters,” said Capt. Josh McCullion, 455 EMSG executive officer, deployed from Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., and a native of Summit Hill, Pa. “By moving from the California shelter to a hardened facility, we will be further securing our equipment, information and personnel from all forms of threats.”
