By Sgt. Jennifer Spradlin
USARCENT Public Affairs

CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait - This week's U.S. Army Central soldier of the week is Spc. Jashon Banks, a USARCENT human resources specialist. Banks is currently serving a 9-month tour in Kuwait, deployed forward from the 593rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash. He is a native of Chicago and has served in the U.S. Army for one year.

"I was projected to be drafted in the sixth round of the NFL draft as a running back, but there was a lockout during the 2011 season. I returned to Chicago and spent about eight months working with a sheriff's department there, because I majored in criminal justice. While working toward becoming an Indiana state trooper, I decided that I wanted to join the FBI. Being in the military is a good route toward achieving that goal," said Banks.

Q: What is your favorite movie genre?
A: Action. It keeps you on the edge of your seat, gets you pumped up and into the movie.

Q: What is your favorite food?
A: I love chicken; really any type of chicken.

Q: What are your goals?
A: My main goal is to join the FBI and also finish my master's degree in criminal law.

Q: What are you most proud of?
A: I am most proud of my college football records. At Saint Joseph's College, in Indiana, I am the all-time leading rusher; first in all-purpose yards and first in rushing touchdowns.

Q: What are your hobbies?
A: I love football, weight lifting, and reading. I also like to talk to other soldiers and be that support system for them, if they need it.

Q: If you could spend one hour with anyone, who would it be and why?
A: It would be with my old college football team. I'd really enjoy being back with them.
