Soldier of the Week: Spc. Allen M. Jackson

CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait – This week’s Third Army/U.S. Army Central Soldier of the Week is Spc. Allen M. Jackson, Third Army/ARCENT video teleconference scheduler, currently deployed to Kuwait. Jackson, a native of Henderson, N.C., has served in the U.S. Army for three years.

“I always had intentions of being in the military; it was just a matter of which branch of service. Finally, I decided on the Army and knew that with them this next step in life would be best for me and my family,” said Jackson.

Q: What is your favorite movie genre?
A: Action. I love seeing 10 or more different people losing a fight to just one guy.
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: I love chicken; really any type of chicken.
Q: What are your goals?
A: My main goal is to become the first sergeant major of the Army with a Signal background, and to retire with a master’s in psychology.
Q: What are you most proud of?
A: I am most proud of the man I have grown to be today: a great husband, father and mentor to my wife and kids.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: I love to play basketball … it’s just something about basketball that helps me focus, relieve stress, etc.
Q: If you could spend one hour with anyone, who would it be and why?
A: It would be my grandfather. I never really had a good opportunity to say goodbye before he passed away.
