FORT HOOD, Texas -- Fort Hood officials have released the name of a soldier who died from injuries suffered from a motorcycle accident Aug 28. in Killeen, Texas. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by Bell County Justice of the Peace William Cooke.

Specialist Tyler Jerome Pimpis, 25, whose home of record is listed as Londonderry, N.H., entered the military in January 2010 as a track vehicle repairer. He was assigned to 5th Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, since August 2012.

Pimpis deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from March 2011 to January 2012.

Pimpis' awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with campaign star, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Driver and Mechanic Badge.
