Jemison, Ala., native retires after 24 years of military service

EAST POINT, Ga. - Chief Warrant Officer 3 Dwight Swindle, Legal Administrator, 335th Signal Command (Theater), added his name to the military retired rolls, at a ceremony Aug. 17.

Swindle, a 1983 graduate of Jemison High School, enlisted in the Army Reserve in 1989; and was steadily promoted to positions of increasing responsibility, to include executive officer, Company B, 3397th Garrison Support Unit in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.

His military medals include:
Army Commendation Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters
Army Achievement Medal
Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal (2nd Award)
National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award)
Southwest Asia Service Medal w/ 2 Bronze Service Stars
Global War on Terror Medal with “M” Device
Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” Device
Saudi /Kuwait Liberation Medal
