Army father sends love from Afghanistan on Father’s Day

TARIN KOT, AFGHANISTAN – Capt. Daniel Morgan, assistant operations officer for Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, is currently serving with Combined Team Uruzgan at Multinational Base - Tarin Kot, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Morgan, a native of Poquoson, Va., and a graduate of Poquoson High School and George Mason University in Fairfax, Va., arrived in theater in November 2012. Morgan has served in the military for five years. This is his first deployment.

Many soldiers have been away from their families for important holidays, and with Father’s Day approaching, Morgan had a few words for his daughters Grace and Charlotte.

"Daddy loves you and will be home soon!” Morgan said.

Morgan is scheduled to return to Fort Stewart, Ga., in the next few months.
