UNITED STATES AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force Academy's Board of Visitors is scheduled to meet in the Russell Senate Office Building, Room SR-485, in Washington, D.C., June 14, 2013. The purpose of this meeting is to review morale and discipline, social climate, curriculum, instruction, infrastructure, fiscal affairs, academic methods, and other matters relating to the Academy.

Members of the Board include Alfredo Sandoval, BoV Chair, managing partner of the Private Investment Group and an Academy graduate (1982); Arlen (Dirk) Jameson, lieutenant general, USAF (retired), BoV Vice Chair, who served in military and commercial space ventures including a position as executive director of the Texas Telecommunication Infrastructure Fund; U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, (R-SC); U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO); U.S. Sen. John Hoeven, (R-ND); U.S. Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-CA, 47th Dist.); U.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO, 5th Dist.); U.S. Rep. Niki Tsongas (D-MA., 5th Dist.); U.S. Rep. Jared Polis (D-CO, 2nd Dist.); and Marcelite Harris, major general, USAF (retired), with a distinguished career including many "firsts" such as the first woman aircraft maintenance officer and one of the first two women air officers commanding at the U.S. Air Force Academy; Dr. Thomas L. McKiernan, a professor of medicine in cardiology at Loyola University Chicago's Stritch School of Medicine and an Academy graduate (1971); Fletcher "Flash" Wiley who is the president, COO and General Counsel for PRWT Holdings and an Academy graduate (1965); Dr. Paula Thornhill, brigadier general, USAF (retired), director of RAND's Project AIR FORCE Strategy and Doctrine Program, adjunct professorial lecturer in strategic studies at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and an Academy graduate (1980); and Sue Hoppin, founder of the National Military Spouse Network and member of the Board of Directors for Blue Star families. Also expected to attend the meeting are the Honorable Daniel B. Ginsberg, assistant secretary of the Air Force for Manpower and Reserve Affairs; Lt. Gen. Darrell Jones, deputy chief of staff, Manpower, Personnel and Services; Lt. Gen. Michael C. Gould, the Academy's superintendent; and Francine Blackmon, deputy assistant secretary of the Air Force for Force Management Integration.
