Texas soldier sends love from Afghanistan on Father’s Day

TARIN KOT, AFGHANISTAN - Sgt. Joshua Prescott, an infantryman with 56th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Texas Army National Guard, is currently serving with Combined Team Uruzgan at Multinational Base - Tarin Kot, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Prescott, a native of Haslet, Texas, arrived in theater in November 2012. He has served in the military for nine years and this is his third deployment.

Many soldiers have been away from their families for important holidays, and with Father’s Day approaching, Prescott had a few words for his daughters, Kinlee and Leighton.

“I love you two very much and I will be home soon,” Prescott said. “I can’t wait to put my arms around you two and your mom. I love and miss y’all very much!”

Prescott is currently working with a Security Force Assistance Team to advise Afghan National Police officers. He is scheduled to return to his unit in Greenville, Texas, in the next few months.
