KAPISA PROVINCE, Afghanistan – Commandos from the 2nd and 6th Special Operations Kandak killed four insurgents and detained 86 insurgents in Tagab district, Kapisa province, May 28.
The commandos killed and apprehended the insurgents while conducting clearing operations in Alah Say and Bedraou valleys.
“Our mission is to destroy the insurgents’ hiding places, to capture insurgents and eliminate those who are trying to destroy this country,” said Col. Ghulam Nabi, commander of 2nd SOK. “Commandos bring a lot of good changes for their nation.”
The commandos transferred custody of all detainees to the Afghan Uniformed Police and Tagab directorate of national security.
Afghan National Army Special Forces commandos are an elite group that conducts high-risk operations in remote areas known to be enemy strongholds. These counterinsurgency missions assist national and local police in their efforts to increase security, governance and development.
