MARINE CORSP AIR STATION CHERRY POINT, N.C. - Cherry Point Marines and Sailors are invited to attend a free military appreciation country music concert at the air station theater Wednesday.

WRNS radio station will host country music artists David Kroll and Maggie Rose at the air station theater at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

“We are helping to put on this concert because we want to appreciate everything our service members and their family do,” said Cassie Fossum, Marine Corps Community Services corporate sponsorship coordinator.

MCCS efforts to bring free entertainment to the service members aboard the air station is continual, said Fossum.

“I think we are going to have a good turnout,” said Fossum. “We have given away a lot of tickets already.”
The concert highlights the relationship between the air station and local community.

Kroll is making a return appearance on the air station.

“I was at Cherry Point last year for the air show, and I got to open for Darryl Worley, who is a famous country singer,” he said. “This will be my second time performing at Cherry Point.”
Kroll says coming to North Carolina and performing for the military is an amazing experience that he will never forget.
“Getting to play my song for a bunch of Marines and their families is something that to this day I will never forget,” he said.

To get free tickets to see Kroll and Rose Wednesday at the air station theater, visit the Crystal Coast Travel and Leisure office located next to Military Clothing.
