Soldier of the Week: Sgt. Brittany M. Kent

SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. – This week’s Third Army/ARCENT Soldier of the Week is Sgt. Brittany M. Kent, Third Army/ARCENT paralegal noncommissioned officer.

Kent, a Jessup, Ga., native, joined Third Army/ARCENT in November after serving at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.

The mother of one will have five years of service in the U.S. Army in May, and said she is proud to be a part of the few that serve.

“I like the pride and honor that comes with wearing the uniform. It’s nice to be honored for that because only about one percent of the population wears the uniform.”

Kent said she joined the Army to see the world and better herself.

Q: What is your favorite movie genre?

A: Romantic comedy.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: Fried chicken.

Q: What are your goals?

A: To get promoted, be a court recorder, become a drill sergeant and retire.

Q: What are you most proud of?

A: After everything I’ve been through in the last five years, that I am in my second enlistment and still wearing the uniform. I did not plan on reenlisting.

Q: What are your hobbies?

A: Photography, reading books and playing tennis.

Q: If you could spend one hour with anyone, who would it be and why?

A: Queen Elizabeth, I would pick her brain and find out what is it really like to be royalty.
