SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. – This week’s Third Army/ARCENT Soldier of the week is Sgt. Steven M. Briggs, noncommissioned officer team chief, Third Army/ARCENT plans and policies.

Briggs, a Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native, joined Third Army/ARCENT from Fort Lewis, Wash., and has more than eight-years of service in the U.S. Army. Briggs continued his military career reenlisting for stabilization.

Briggs entered the military service straight out of high school and he has served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom during his career and aspires to become an aviation warrant officer.

Q: What is your favorite movie genre?

A: Comedy. Happy Gilmore is my favorite.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: Steak and potatoes

Q: What are your goals?

A: Graduate warrant officer school.

Q: What are you most proud of?

A: I am most proud of me because without myself I could not accomplish anything.

Q: What are your hobbies?

A: I like sports, video games and working with computers.

Q: If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you want with you?

A: A fishing pole to catch food, cocktails because being on an island would be very relaxing and weapons kill predators and make a boat.

Q: If you could spend one hour with anyone, who would it be and why?

A: My mother because she has always been there for me and I only get to see her about twice a year.
