AF holds Media Day for 57th Presidential Inauguration practice

JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. - Air Force units at Joint Base Andrews, Md., held media day while the Air Force marching element practiced for the 57th Presidential Inauguration Parade, Jan. 11, 2013.

More than 20 local, national and international media outlets gathered to watch the U.S. Air Force Ceremonial Element rehearsal for the 57th Presidential Inauguration Parade, Jan. 11, 2013, at Joint Base Andrews, Md. The event kicked off with remarks from Maj. Gen. Sharon K.G. Dunbar, Air Force District of Washington commander, followed by music marching and interviews.

The U.S. military support for the inauguration dates back to the first inauguration in 1789 and is designed to honor the commander in chief, recognize civilian control of the military and celebrate democracy.
