WICHITA, Kan. - More than 100 members of the Air Force Reserve 931st Air Refueling Group returned home today from deployments to locations in Turkey and Southwest Asia.
The returning airmen arrived on six separate flights throughout the afternoon. Despite below freezing temperatures, each KC-135 Stratotanker was greeted on the flightline by a crowd of friends and family members.
"These members have truly shown what it means to be a citizen airman," said Col. Mark S. Larson, commander of the 931st Air Refueling Group. "They and their families have made great sacrifices in order do what the mission requires and to serve our country. They did their job, they did it the right way, and now we are able to welcome each of them home safely. I could not be prouder of these tremendous airmen."
The deployed reservists had spent the previous months conducting air refueling missions in locations throughout Southwest Asia in support of ongoing U.S. overseas operations.
