PAKTIKA PROVINCE, Afghanistan – On Jan. 6, senators Carl Levin and Jack Reed, members of the Senate Armed Services Committee, sat down with the key leaders of the U.S. Army’s Task Force 4-1, the provincial government and Afghan National Security Forces of Paktika province, to discuss concerns and capabilities that could possibly affect the redeployment of troops by the end of 2014.
Levin and Reed also spoke to Task Force “Dragon’s” Afghan National Security Force partners about the first-hand concerns they foresee as they prepare to take control of former coalition force operating bases and combat outposts in the upcoming months.
