FORT LEE, Va. - Just in time for the holidays, 19 soldiers with the Army’s 612th Movement Control Detachment were greeted by family and friends during a ceremony here Dec. 13 upon their return from a nine-month deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
The detachment worked at Kandahar Airfield, while deployed, coordinating transportation.
The detachment, one of the few deployable units based at Fort Lee, is part of the 530th Combat Sustainment Support Brigade.
