CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait— Guitars, hats, footballs and pictures were just a few of the items Third Army/ U.S. Army Central servicemembers had in their hands as they waited for the opportunity to meet Kid Rock on camp Dec 27.
More than 200 servicemembers were patiently waiting in line before Kid Rock was introduced by Third Army Deputy Commanding General Maj. Gen. Dennis Hardy.
"It's a great show of support," said 1st Lt. Mark St. Romain, a Task Force Gator member and Baton Rouge, La., native.
St. Romain had a guitar he received in the mail on Tuesday signed by the rock star.
"I got it as a gift for Christmas," said St. Romain. "I don't play the guitar, but I will learn now."
Sgt. 1st Class Jeff McKenzie also had a new guitar signed by Kid Rock.
"I just bought it yesterday," said McKenzie. "I wanted to learn how to play the guitar and have [Kid Rock] be the first to sign it."
The signatures on guitars and pictures were overshadowed by the smiles of elated servicemembers as they had the opportunity to meet the rock icon.
Kid Rock is on the last leg of his Holiday Hand Shake Tour which brought him through Iraq and Kuwait.
