BAGRAM, Afghanistan - Afghan and coalition forces killed nine insurgents and captured six in eastern Afghanistan during operations throughout the past 24 hours, April 7.

Afghan National Army soldiers and coalition forces killed five insurgents in response to receiving small arms fire in Manogai District, Kunar province.

Coalition forces killed two insurgents spotted with an AK-47 and rocket-propelled grenade launcher in Yosef Khel District, Paktika province. In a separate incident, in Dilah Wa Khosha District, Paktika province, coalition forces killed two insurgents spotted with AK-47s and RPGs. ANA soldiers also detained five suspects found with a cache of small arms and materials used in making improvised explosive devices in Zarghoon Shar District, Paktika province.
