    NATO Special Operations Component Command-Afghanistan

BAGHLAN PROVINCE, Afghanistan - An Afghan man turned over unexploded ordnance to an Afghan Local Police commander in Pul-E-Khumri district, Feb. 14.

The ALP commander was driving his personal vehicle when a pedestrian flagged him down from the side of the road.

When the commander asked why the man flagged him down, the man responded that he knew that the commander was a member of the ALP, and that they would know what to do with the UXO.
The ALP commander took possession of the UXO from the village and brought it to coalition special operations forces, who safely destroyed the UXO.

“The people of Pul-E-Khumri know that the ALP can be trusted to take care of them,” said a coalition SOF advisor. “The ALP have repeatedly shown themselves to be responsible stewards of peace and security throughout the district.”
