KUWAIT NAVAL BASE, Kuwait – Command Sgt. Maj. Stephan Frennier, Third Army/ARCENT senior enlisted adviser and Whitehouse, Texas native, visited Minnesota National Guardsmen with the 1st Battalion, 125th Field Artillery here Oct. 20.

During his visit, Frennier expressed his gratitude and handed out Third Army coins to service members who have exceeded the standard with their hard work and dedication.

“You soldiers are the unsung heroes,” Frennier said. “What you do here has a tactical impact on this area, as well as a strategic impact on the entire region. Thank you for what you’re doing, and make sure you better yourself physically, spiritually and/or emotionally while here.”

He then attended a conference with senior noncommissioned officers where he was briefed on the 1-125 FA’s mission, capabilities, and operational efficiencies.

“This was a good in-depth look at your mission,” explained Frennier. “Make sure your soldiers, Sailors and Coast Guardsmen realize the magnitude of what they do.”

After the briefing, senior leaders recognized service members who went above and beyond the call of duty at Camp Patriot, the Troop Medical Clinic, and Navy Boat House.

Of those recognized was Spc. Christian Wilson, base supply office carpenter and St. Peter, Minn., native. Wilson said being recognized for his hard work and dedication by Third Army’s Command Sergeant Major is an honor he’ll never forget.

“It feels great,” Wilson explained. “I was honored to have Command Sgt. Maj. Frennier visit, and even more excited to be awarded a coin of excellence from him.”

As his visit came to an end, Frennier reminded each and every service member the importance of their daily operations.

“The job you’re doing here impacts the entire region,” said Frennier. “It’s because of your day-in and day-out hard work that this area remains safe. I appreciate all of your sacrifices. Never forget what you’re doing is very important to the stability of the region.”

Third Army’s commitment to the well-being of its troops remains a priority. Through morale-building events such as Frennier’s visit, Third Army is helping to inspire, educate and inform service members, the strength of our nation.
