HEADQUARTERS U.S. MARINE CORPS – The United States Marine Corps will conduct a leadership seminar Oct. 6-7 in Orlando, Fla., during the 23rd Annual Hispanic Engineer National Achievement Awards Corporation conference.

The Marine Corps Leadership Seminar will bring together senior Marine leaders and administrators, professors, and students from Orlando-area colleges, universities, and HENNAC attendees at Disney World’s Coronado Springs Resort for a two-day discussion on Marine Corps leadership development.

“This is a way for us to give back and connect with communities around our great country,” said Dr. Ken Dunn, a retired Marine colonel and seminar leader. “We hope to raise awareness among minority college students, educators, and leaders in the Orlando area regarding Marine Corps leadership development and opportunities in efforts to shape a quality force that reflects the diversity of the nation it serves.”

Thursday’s seminar will feature presentations by active-duty and veteran Marine leaders and discussions on leadership ethics, principles, decision making processes, team building and problem solving. Attendees who complete the course will receive a MCLS certificate of leadership. The guest luncheon speaker is Robert D. Cabana, director, NASA Kennedy Space Center and retired Marine colonel.

Marine Maj. Gen. Angela Salinas, director, Manpower Management Division, will also address the group Oct. 7 during an evening reception.

The seminar is open to students enrolled in Orlando-area colleges and universities on a first come, first served basis. Please contact Larry Parker at larry.d.parker@usmc.mil or (540) 819-3842 for seminar registration and information.
