GRAFENWOEHR, Germany – Forty nations will gather to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks this Sunday in Grafenwoehr, Germany, at 11:00 a.m. at the Camp Aachen parade field.
22 European and North American nations will be honored for lives lost during the attacks. The nations include: Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Moldova, Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, United Kingdom, and the United States. Russia, Israel, Belarus, and Lebanon are not participating in the exercise, but will also be honored for their loss during the ceremony.
After the ceremony, members of the participating nations will be available for interview.
We are receiving heavy media interest and request early coordination for media coverage. If you do not have bureau reporter in the region, our PA staff will assist in providing photos (with rights of first release), phone interviews and SM feeds. If you are planning to come on-site, please contact us for base access and accreditation.
