KANDAHAR AIR FIELD, Afghanistan - Afghan Air Force flight medics Sor Gulab and Raheem, from the Kandahar Air Wing medical detachment, trained 63 students from the Afghan National Army and AAF during the Combat Medic course on proper MEDEVAC procedures in the Mi-17 transport helicopter March 5.

Students were instructed on the safe approach during loading and unloading of litter patients through the rear clam shells doors on the Mi-17 helicopter. The AAF flight medics emphasized safety of both patient and litter bearers when approaching aircraft around the tail rotor.
