MAZAR-E SHARIF, Afghanistan – ISAF’s Regional Command North donated a fire truck for use at the Mazar-e Sharif Airport in northern Afghanistan Feb. 19.
The fire truck, when coupled with recent training received by Afghan firefighters at the airport will provide an enhanced capability to react to emergencies on the flight line, according to German Air Force Brig. Gen. Hans-Georg Schmidt.
The presentation of the fire engine was attended by representatives of the local government, Afghan National Police and ISAF members from Camp Marmal, which serves as the headquarters for RC-North.
