NAVAL BASE SAN DIEGO, Calif. β The Navy Cash team at Naval Supply Systems Command Fleet Logistics Center San Diego (NAVSUP FLCSD) began the new year with a fast-paced operational schedule, delivering training and hands-on financial systems support to Sailors across multiple states and overseas locations. Throughout January, the four-person team supported Fleet units in Japan, Mississippi, Washington state, and San Diego, providing critical expertise that strengthened financial readiness and operational continuity.
One member of the team, Mr. Hector Leyco, deployed to Yokosuka, Japan, where he provided on-site support to 10 Forward Deployed Naval Force ships, including an aircraft carrier and a command ship. During his visit, Leyco conducted comprehensive training for disbursing officers, deputies, and retail operators, with emphasis on Navy Cash deputies currently serving as accountable officers due to vacant disbursing officer billets. He also assisted crews with troubleshooting and proper management of personal and merchant accounts, reviewed overdue service calls, and worked with shipboard leadership to address pending cases.
Team members Mr. Kennedy James and Personnel Specialist Chief Petty Officer Joanna Rodolfo Marquez, traveled to Pascagoula, Mississippi, to support USS Zumwalt (DDG 1000) during its upgrade to Navy Cash 2.0, also known as Eagle Cash. The team conducted a dozen training sessions for more than 100 Sailors and completed administrative reviews of all required enrollment documentation, ensuring compliance with program standards.
James then traveled to the Pacific Northwest, where he provided technical assistance and troubleshooting for Navy Cash systems aboard six ships, including two aircraft carriers. He also delivered specialized training to disbursing personnel to enhance financial system readiness across the region.
Back in San Diego, team member Mr. Andy Yager conducted Navy Cash turnover procedures and a comprehensive review during a prospective disbursing officer brief, preparing Ensigns for upcoming afloat assignments. Yager and the team also delivered a Navy Cash 2.0 refresher course for Sailors, reinforcing fiscal procedures, website use, and ServiceNow troubleshooting.
"The operational tempo of our Navy Cash team is nothing short of remarkable,β said Cmdr. Hisham Semaan, NAVSUP FLCSD Director of Fleet Operations. βIn just one month, they've spanned the globe to ensure our Sailors have the critical financial systems and training they need to maintain mission focus. Their expertise is a direct and vital component of our Fleet's readiness, and I couldn't be prouder of the significant impact this dedicated team delivers every single day."
Together, these efforts highlight how a small team delivered a significant impact in support of Fleet readiness during the first month of 2026.
