**EBBING AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Ark. —**Chief Master Sgt. Scott W. Manamon relinquished responsibility as the 188th Wing Command Chief to Chief Master Sgt. Jeffery K. Weaver during a formal assumption of responsibility ceremony held here Jan. 30, 2026.
The ceremony symbolized the official transfer of enlisted leadership authority and responsibility within the wing. As the senior enlisted leader, the command chief serves as the principal advisor to the wing commander and staff on all matters affecting the enlisted force, ensuring the welfare, readiness, and professional development of Airmen across the installation.
Manamon transferred to the 188th Wing in October 2015, providing guidance and continuity during the wing’s historic transition from the A-10 Thunderbolt II mission to an intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance mission. Throughout his tenure, he played a critical role in supporting mission growth at Ebbing, including the establishment and expansion of the Foreign Military Sales active-duty training mission currently underway. Manamon will continue his service to the state as he transitions to his new role as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader for the Arkansas National Guard at Joint Force Headquarters, Camp Robinson, North Little Rock, Arkansas.
“It has been the highest honor to spend the majority of my career serving with the outstanding Airmen of the 188th Wing and the Flying Razorbacks,” Manamon said. “From our transformative missions to the everyday dedication of this exceptional team, this unit has shaped me as a leader and Airman. I am excited to now represent the Arkansas Air National Guard at a higher level, advocating for our enlisted force across the state while carrying forward the pride and lessons I’ve gained here.”
While Manamon’s departure marks the end of a significant chapter, Ebbing Airmen look ahead with confidence as Weaver assumes responsibility as the wing’s senior enlisted leader. Weaver has served with the 188th Wing since 1997, spending 30 years of his 34-year career at Ebbing. His experience includes leadership through multiple mission changes, most notably the wing’s transition to an intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance mission in 2013.
“It is a profound privilege to step into the position of Command Chief for the 188th Wing,” Weaver said. “I stand on the shoulders of leaders like Chief Manamon, whose dedication set an incredible standard. Together, we will continue to serve our Airmen, strengthen readiness, and deliver unmatched impact in support of our mission at Ebbing.”
