MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan - Families from Misawa Air Base and the local Japanese community came together to celebrate Halloween with Trunk or Treat, a Zombie Run, and on-base trick-or-treating, sharing candy, laughter, and memories that strengthened bonds and community ties.
For Team Misawa, these events are more than traditions; they are opportunities to bring people together. Each gathering opens the gates to the community and builds shared experiences that show the mission's strength comes from its people.
During Trunk or Treat, cars decorated with creative themes lined the streets as children collected candy and smiles. The event provided a safe, family-friendly celebration and a meaningful opportunity for service members and local residents to connect.
These opportunities bring families together to share meaningful time and strengthen relationships that reach beyond the base, showing Japanese partners they are an essential part of the community.
Through laughter, shared traditions, and lasting memories, participants deepened understanding between U.S. and Japanese communities and were reminded that behind the uniforms are families and friends who care about the place they call home.
By hosting events that encourage inclusion and togetherness, the 35th Fighter Wing continues to enhance quality of life and reinforce the partnerships that keep the community thriving on both sides of the gate.
