SAN ANGELO, Texas – The U.S. Navy Center for Information Warfare Training Command Monterey, Detachment Goodfellow, celebrated its 250th birthday with the annual U.S. Navy Birthday Ball at the Cactus Hotel in San Angelo, Texas, Oct. 9.
Two and a half centuries ago, the Continental Congress established the U.S. Navy and marked the beginning of a long legacy of Naval excellence and maritime supremacy. Today the U.S. Navy defends our nation, protects the global commons and ensures the free flow of commerce around the world.
“The last 250 years have been a time of great change, and the next 250 will not be any different because that is our legacy,” expressed U.S. Navy Master Chief Thomas Bouwman, Navy Information Operations Command Texas senior language advisor. “I have no doubt you all have been well prepared, and we’ll go to the fleet ready to do the work you all so unselfishly raised your right hand to do.”
