MIAMI – Sailors from Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) Miami presented Ryan Miret, a senior and offensive lineman at Miami Southridge Senior High School, with his All-American Bowl jersey during a ceremony held on campus before his peers, staff, and faculty.
The presentation is part of this year’s Road to the Dome tour, which began Sept. 5, 2025. Sponsored by NBC Sports in partnership with America’s Navy, the nationwide tour highlights top high school football players selected to compete in the Navy All-American Bowl, where East Coast athletes face West Coast counterparts in San Antonio this January. The tour also recognizes the coaches and teachers who helped shape these players’ success.
Miret, who transitioned from defensive line to offensive line before his junior year, thanked his supporters during the ceremony highlighting his fellow linemen and coaches.
“First I’d like to give a big thanks to my head coach, Coach Senatus, who has done a ton for this program that wouldn’t be where it is without him,” said Miret. “Linemen don’t need the attention, spotlight or name in the paper. The sole purpose of their job is to make others successful, and success requires all fields of strength (FOS) to work as one. Special thanks to my offensive line coach, Coach Rodriguez, and to my linemen for helping me to get where I am.”
Football and the Navy both demand teamwork, dedication, and the toughness—physical and mental—needed to succeed. Head football coach for Miami Southridge, Pierre Senatus, believes Miret’s hard work, character and commitment have made him an asset to his team and will bring the same value to the All-American Bowl in January.
“Every time you ask him to meet a measurement he surpasses it.” said Senatus. “To see him stand here today and know that all those measurements mean absolutely nothing if you don’t look at the young man—as a human being, a teammate, a student, a son, a classmate. There’s no measurement that can measure the kind of person that sits in front of me. Beyond football, beyond wrestling, beyond academics, you see a great human being, that’s what gives me that satisfaction. I’m glad that the Navy All-American selection committee can see through all those measurements that all these people have, you have no idea how superior (Miret) is. Thank you for acknowledging him, for giving him a platform and spotlight tonight. He truly deserves it.”
Ben Wittkowski, representing the All-American Bowl corporate partnerships, shared facts and statistics about past players before explaining the significance of being selected for the prestigious game.
“There are over a million football players in this country,” said “There are only a hundred that will get the privilege of being named a Navy All-American.”
Presenting the jersey on behalf of the Navy, Lt. Brendon Clements, a native of Miami and enlisted programs officer, NTAG Miami, addressed students about discipline, diligence, and the value of continuous learning.
“Everything you do in your life is going to be predicated on your mind first,” said Clements, who also played football and graduated from Coral Reef High School. “You’re a student athlete right now but my charge to you is to be life-long students-–to learn continuously throughout your life. Any goals you may have—whether they be on a football field or in a Naval career, in the corporate world or your own business, is all predicated on what you're able to do with your mind. How strong your mind is, how disciplined you can be and how willing you are to learn.”
Clements also credited Miret’s team for their role in his success, noting he couldn’t have achieved it without them. Recognition for other contributors continued throughout the ceremony.
As part of this year’s Navy All-American jersey presentations, each player was asked to identify a teacher who has had a strong influence on his life. Miret recognized Yolanda Stevens, his ninth- and tenth-grade English teacher, thanking her with a Navy All-American Bowl football.
“The Navy All-American Bowl showcases the very best of American youth—determined, disciplined, and driven to succeed” said Rear Adm. James P. Waters III, Commander, Navy Recruiting Command. “These players embody the same core values we live by in the Navy: honor, courage, and commitment. We are proud to stand alongside them, their families, and the communities that shaped them, as we celebrate excellence both on the field and in service to our country
The partnership with America’s Navy will celebrate the honor and prestige that comes with the selection process, Road to the Dome tour, and Bowl week, culminating with the Navy All-American Bowl Awards Show and the Navy All-American Bowl.
NBC and Peacock will air the 2026 All-American Bowl live from San Antonio’s Alamodome on Saturday, Jan. 10, at 1 p.m. ET, featuring the nation’s top 100 high school players in the 26th annual East vs. West game, presented in partnership with the U.S. Navy.
