TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Developing a stronger, more resilient community is the goal of the upcoming Tyndall Connects event, which the 325th Fighter Wing will host from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 24, 2025, at the Fitness Center.

This initiative aims to reduce isolation and strengthen social bonds in the community. Attendees can engage with at least 25 different clubs, organizations and groups, to learn about opportunities for connection and involvement. This event is open to everyone with base access, including Airmen, civilians, retirees, and their families.

“At its core, Tyndall Connects is about building a stronger, more resilient community,” said Rebecca Gestrich, 325th Fighter Wing integrated prevention chief. “We’ve seen great success in past events, with attendees forming lasting friendships, discovering new passions, and realizing they’re not alone.”

Engaging in open conversations about mental health, promoting connection and encouraging help-seeking behavior can significantly impact service members who may be struggling.

“Connection saves lives,” Gestrich said. “When we foster open conversations about mental health and create safe spaces for support, we help reduce stigma and encourage early intervention. Suicide prevention begins with each of us checking in, listening and reminding others that they are never alone.”

Comprehensive information about base-specific resources can be found through Tyndall Helping Agencies. The Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is accessible to anyone by calling or texting 988, or by visiting 988lifeline.org.
