The Joint Culinary Training Department (JCTD) successfully hosted its 22nd Annual Partnership Day on 16–17 September 2025, bringing together more than 40 civilian food industry partners for two days of engagement, collaboration, and firsthand insight into Army training and operations.
With a robust agenda that began at the Larkin Hall and extended to multiple Fort Lee training locations, attendees experienced an in-depth look at the Army’s culinary and tactical-feeding capabilities, with special visits to the Field Operations Training Site and the Joint Culinary Training Center.
The event provided industry partners with a rare opportunity to observe Soldiers in action—preparing meals in field conditions, demonstrating advanced culinary techniques, and showcasing the teamwork and precision that underpin Army food service operations.
“This year’s Partnership Day was a tremendous success,” said Charles Talley Jr, Chief, Quality Assurance Division, JCTD. “Our industry partners left with a deeper understanding of our mission and a renewed commitment to supporting the Army’s continuous transformation.”
Geared towards building cohesive teams and driving continuous transformation by fostering open dialogue and mutual learning, the JCTD strengthened relationships that will help ensure the Army remains at the forefront of innovation in food service and operational readiness.
“Learning about the future of food operations has been very helpful,” said Brian Furey, an industry rep with Nature’s Fynd. “Being able to come out to the field training site and learning how the Soldiers interact with the equipment and still prepare delicious and nutritious meals.”
As the 22nd Annual Partnership Day concluded, both Army and industry leaders expressed optimism about the future of their collaboration—recognizing that shared expertise and trust are essential to meeting tomorrow’s challenges together.
