On July 29, 2025, the George C. Marshall Club–Bulgaria hosted an alumni gathering at Rakovski National Defence College, uniting 20 distinguished alumni. Among the participants were Bulgaria’s current Minister of Defense, Atanas Zaprianov; former ministers Todor Tagarev and Velizar Shalamanov; and Marshall Center Deputy Director Rolf Wagner.
"We are proud to use these longstanding relationships and events to initiate new conversations about shared security—showing what’s possible when a global network of professionals unites around a common vision," Wagner said. “This gathering was not only a testament to the strength of our alumni network, but also a forward-looking moment for Bulgaria’s role in advancing European-led security."
Organized by Club President Violina Kehayova, with the support of the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense and in cooperation with the Partnership for Peace Consortium, the event underscored the importance of sustained engagement with Bulgaria’s active and influential alumni network.
The meeting served as a valuable opportunity to reconnect, reinvigorate, and refocus Bulgaria’s Marshall Center alumni on European-led defense and deterrence.
