The 377th Support Maintenance Company (SMC) hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the newly renovated Staff Sgt. Andrew Miller U.S. Army Reserve Center, here in Manitowoc, Wis. on July 28, 2025.

Members of the local community joined in the celebration and toured the updated facility.

More than four years ago, the 377th SMC Soldiers were relocated to Neenah, Wis., and Fort McCoy, Wis. to help facilitate the updates. The 88th Readiness Division, Directorate of Public Works (DPW), which has the responsibility of providing facility services to more than 575 U.S. Army Reserve sites in 19 states, coordinated the renovation project.

The renovated facility has much more to offer the Soldiers who call it home station. It now features a new arms vault, expanded equipment storage, a full kitchen, classrooms, parking lot expansion, and a full gym with locker rooms to support Soldiers' physical readiness.

The upgraded reserve center ensures that Soldiers are equipped to train effectively, maintain readiness, and fulfill their commitment to serve with excellence in a space that reflects the Army's evolving mission.

Original construction began in 1959, and the facility was completed and dedicated in 1961. It is memorialized in the name of Staff Sgt. Andrew Miller, a native of the Manitowoc area. Miller served during WWII, was killed in action, and received the Medal of Honor posthumously in 1945.

The original reserve center consisted of a drill hall, administrative space, and a maintenance shop, which supported the training, coordination, and sustainment of U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers for more than six decades.

The 377th Support Maintenance Company, 687th Combat Support Sustainment Battalion, 646th Regional Support Group, 103rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), 88th Readiness Division, and U.S. Army Reserve thank the Manitowoc, Wis. community for welcoming the unit back to their reserve center.
