The 2nd Georgian Brigade conducted a Command Post Exercise (CPX) with NATO partners and allies during exercise Agile Spirit 25 at the Krtsanisi Training Area, Georgia, July 31, 2025.
Exercise Agile Spirit 25 underscores the U.S. commitment to security and stability in the Black Sea region and highlights the importance of strong alliances and partnerships in addressing shared security challenges. The exercise is a joint multinational training exercise, scheduled from July 21 to August 8, 2025, in Georgia and Türkiye. It involves more than 2,000 personnel from the U.S. and allied and partner nations, including Bulgaria, Georgia, Germany, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Türkiye, and Ukraine.
The 2nd Georgian Brigade is part of the Senaki-based Georgian Land Forces. It’s one of the five infantry brigades within the Georgian Army and is responsible for defending Georgia’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
The CPX that took place during the exercise served as a vital training event to enhance the command and control capabilities of the 2nd Georgian Brigade with NATO partners and allies. Participants used the staff planning process to create a mock battle plan at the brigade level.
During the exercise, participants also utilized communication systems to generate tactical messages. This approach helps create an immersive experience that closely resembles the complexities of a battlefield environment, ensuring that military personnel are well-prepared for actual operational challenges.
