The Marshall Center welcomed a distinguished group of medical officers from the Bundeswehr Medical Academy in Garmisch-Partenkirchen on June 27, 2025.
Col. Markus Schneider, the German senior national representative at the Marshall Center, began the tour by providing an overview of the unique German-American partnership at the Marshall Center. He explained the core mission to build strategic alignment and interoperability in support of European-led deterrence and defense.
Additionally, Marshall Center experts Graeme Herd, Ph.D., professor of transnational security studies, and Yevgeniya Gaber, Ph.D., professor of regional security studies, provided a snapshot on the current European security environment. Herd spoke about understanding Russian strategic behavior, and Gaber discussed the changing nature of war.
Beyond its core academic programs, the Marshall Center regularly hosts visiting delegations for short-format exchanges that highlight its role as a hub for strategic dialogue. These engagements offer a unique opportunity to share expertise, foster mutual understanding, and deepen ties within the broader security cooperation community.
