    Coalition Soldier Killed in Iraq; Two Fatalities Identified

    A coalition soldier was killed in eastern Baghdad yesterday, and the Defense Department has identified two soldiers killed in the past week.

    The coalition soldier was killed in a roadside-bomb attack in the eastern part of Iraq's capital city. The soldier's name is not being released until family members have been notified.

    Meanwhile, the Defense Department has announced the identities of two soldiers who died recently while supporting operations in Iraq:

    • Army Pvt. Alva L. Gaylord, 25, of Carrollton, Mo., died of injuries suffered in Qasr Ar Riyy on May 5, when a roadside bomb detonated near his RG-31 mine-protected vehicle during a combat clearing operation. Gaylord was assigned to the Army National Guard's 110th Engineer Battalion, Kansas City, Mo.
    • Army Pfc. Benjamin T. Zieske, 20, of Concord, Calif., died of injuries suffered in Kirkuk on May 3, when a roadside bomb detonated during a dismounted combat patrol. Zieske was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.
