CAMP LIBERTY, Iraq - Being a long time fan of the Laura Ingraham talk show, he took advantage of fulfilling his personal dream of seeing the radio host in person Feb. 10.

And not only did Maj. Bryon Gibby, intelligence officer, Fires Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, get to witness the live broadcast from Camp Liberty with more than 30 other Soldiers, he also took control of the microphone for nearly 10 minutes with Ingraham and her audience and discussed the positive aspects of the mission in Iraq.

"It's been about two years since I've been trying to get through on her show," said Gibby, who caught her broadcast frequently while teaching at the U.S. Military Academy, West Point in New York.

"But I finally got to talk to her now that I'm in Iraq, so it was definitely worth the wait in this case," continued Gibby, who's daughter recently celebrated her 1st birthday.

Throughout the show, Ingraham invited listeners back in the U.S. to call in and talk directly to the troops

"This was also a great way for me to personally say thank you to the families back home and the American public and that we appreciated their support for us over here," he said.

"It was very entertaining," chimed in Spc. Kenneth Cockes, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 589th Brigade Support Battalion, Fires Bde, 4th Inf. Div., who also participated in the live broadcast. "The positive way in how she did the show was fantastic, especially the way she really highlighted us during the broadcast and all the positive things we're doing over here."

Ingraham concluded her week-long visit to Iraq with the Feb. 10th live broadcast at Camp Victory with hearty cheers and "hoo-aahs" from the crowd, which included Soldiers from both the 4th Inf. Div. and 10th Mountain Div.

"I thought it was very well done. I'm glad she came over here to see what was actually happening on the ground here," said Cockes.
