Bed Bath and Beyond has teamed with United Service Organizations to show that it, too, supports U.S. troops.

The company is offering yellow "Support Our Troops" and red, white and blue "God Bless the USA" magnetic ribbons for $1.99 each. One dollar of the proceeds from the sale of each ribbon is being donated to the USO.

It was important for the company to partner with an organization that would benefit everyone in the military as well as their families, said Bari Fagin, associate director of public relations for Bed Bath and Beyond.

"In the past, Bed Bath and Beyond has been able to help the troops on a case-by- case basis," Fagin said. "But when the opportunity presented itself to actually sell the ribbons, we were able to partner with the USO in a way that allowed us to help troops and their families across the board in a much more significant manner."

The ribbons have been available in Bed Bath and Beyond stores and on the company's Web site for several months now, she said. "Our customers are the ones who responded so well to this. The credit is theirs," Fagan said of the more than $300,000 Bed Bath and Beyond customers have helped to raise.

Two Bed Bath and Beyond subsidiaries -- Christmas Tree Shops and Harmon Discount Stores -- also are selling the ribbons and donating a portion of the proceeds to the USO.
