    NORFOLK, Va. (June 5, 2025) – The Norfolk Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) recognized 42 active duty service members during the 2025 Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society Active Duty Fund Drive Awards Ceremony held June 5 at Rinn Hall, Mariner Skills Training Center Atlantic (MSTCLANT), Naval Station Norfolk.

    The annual event recognized the tireless dedication and contributions of those supporting NMCRS’s mission to provide financial assistance, budget counseling, and other vital support to active duty Sailors, Marines, retirees, veterans, widows and their families.

    “This year’s campaign saw $546,562 in donations, enabling us to assist more than 7,000 service members and families facing financial hardship,” said Lt. Cmdr. Marco Roche, Hamptons Roads Area Coordinator, Commander, Naval Surface Force Atlantic. “Our area coordinators and command representatives’ unwavering commitment made a profound difference in Hampton Roads and beyond.”

    During the ceremony, Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medals were presented to several Sailors and Marines to honor their exemplary contributions:

These forces ensure the Navy remains ready to conduct prompt and sustained operations at sea in defense of U.S. interests.
