GRAFENWOEHR, Germany - The 18th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion was honored to host Quartermaster Regimental Command Sergeant Major during Backbone Week at Grafenwoehr, Germany, May 2, 2025.
The event was dedicated to recognizing and empowering Noncommissioned Officers (NCOs) across the formation.
Backbone Week was dedicated to reinforcing the Army's enlisted leaders' professionalism, values, and responsibilities. Through team-building events, leader development sessions, and mentorship opportunities, Soldiers across the formation engaged in meaningful activities highlighting Noncommissioned Officers' essential role within the U.S. Army.
Quartermaster Regimental Command Sergeant Major, Command Sgt. Maj Tonya Sims' visit began early in the morning as she joined 18th CSSB Soldiers for Physical Training, setting the tone for the day of mentorship, connection, and leadership engagement. Her presence throughout the day underscored the NCO Corps’ importance and critical role in sustaining and leading Army operations.
The 18th CSSB concluded a week of enlisted leader development and celebration with a Noncommissioned Officer (NCO) Induction Ceremony, marking a significant milestone for the unit’s newly promoted Noncommissioned Officers.
Command Sgt. Maj Sims delivered remarks emphasizing the responsibility, pride, and professionalism of earning the stripes.
