JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. – U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Mitchell Toon’s unwavering commitment to service makes him an invaluable asset at the Andrews Regional Command Post.
Toon serves as the noncommissioned officer in charge of C2 operations systems. A key contributor across multiple areas, he has made significant impacts both on and off duty.
His recent efforts include playing a critical role in a crisis intervention involving Air Force members stationed overseas who were experiencing severe mental health distress.
Toon has also been heavily involved in numerous volunteer events on Joint Base Andrews and has led several facility and systems upgrades affecting multiple installations across the National Capital Region.
He has developed a reputation for stepping up when the mission calls. For example, he worked a 19-hour shift during a snowstorm as part of the Command Post “ride-out” team, sacrificing personal time to ensure mission success.
Toon puts the consistency and commitment in command and control, exemplifying the Air Force core values as the 316th Wing’s “Winnin’ like a Griffin” honoree for the month of March.
