Earning recognition as the Senior Sailor, Junior Sailor, or Bluejacket of the Year in the Navy is a tough task, but three Sailors from Navy Reserve Littoral Combat Ship Squadron 2 (LCSRON TWO) have achieved this outstanding accomplishment. At LCSRON TWO, with aid of outstanding leadership and the superior performance from the Sailors, these opportunities for recognition have become tangible.

This year, LCSRON TWO had three Sailors earn these awards. Mineman 1st Class Michael Buck earned the Senior Sailor of the Year award; Gas Turbine Systems Electrician 2nd class Paul Belcher eared the Junior Sailor of the Year award; and Electricians Mate 3rd class Scott Fox earned the Bluejacket of the Year award. After the results of their accomplishments were released, the winners shared their thoughts on their achievements.

"I feel deeply grateful and honored to have been recognized as the CNSL Sailor of the Year,” said Buck. “I am grateful to my mentor, Master Chief Mineman Richard Mathura for giving me the chance to join the LCS enterprise and excel. I also extend my gratitude to the leadership at Maintenance Execution Team Charlie for their hard work and guidance in shaping me into the Sailor I am today.”

"Set a course, follow the coordinates and no destination is too far,” said Belcher “Make waves and make them impact. The only easy day was yesterday.”

"I am grateful for the award, and the wonderful people in our unit,” said Fox. “I am also grateful for the opportunity to go out to Mayport and support the ships out there with my unit.”

“LCSRON TWO RMET Sailors are ready on day one and mission focused,” said MET A Fort Worth’s Senior Enlisted Leader, Senior Chief Electrician’s Mate Justin Burk. “They set the standard for the waterfront support and exhibit high capability of the Reserve Force. Their dedication to duty and commitment to excellence are great examples for all Sailors to emulate and they are most deserving of their respective awards.”

The candidates for these awards were all top notch, and the competition this year was fierce. This year’s winners are a testament to all of the squadron members providing continuous waterfront support to our active duty brothers and sisters.
