FORT HOOD, Texas — U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to 7th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment, III Armored Corps, participated in a patch ceremony in preparation for their deployment to Europe, where they symbolically replaced the colored United States flag with the subdued version, at the III Armored Corps headquarters Oct. 21, 2022, at Fort Hood, Texas.

The ceremony symbolized the organization's deployment from Fort Hood, Texas, to the U.S. Army European Command area of operations in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve. The 7th MPAD is among several III Armored Corps units working alongside NATO allies and regional security partners to provide combat-credible forces to V Corps, America's forward deployed corps in Europe.

Under the leadership of U.S. Army Maj. Marcellus Simmons, commander, and U.S. Army 1st. Sgt. Jason Duhr, detachment first sergeant, the 20-person detachment comprises Army communicators versed in public affairs, community relations, social media operations, graphic design, media relations operations, and the ability to help counter mis- and disinformation, among other specialties.
