Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Washington

WASHINGTON - Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Washington awarded a $37, 528,700 firm-fixed-price construction contract to Cianbro Corporation of Pittsfield, Maine, to repair portions of the seawall at Farragut Field and Santee Basin at the United States Naval Academy (USNA) in Annapolis, Md.

This project includes repairs to the sheet pile bulkheads along Farragut Field and the east side of Santee Basin. A new sheet pile wall will be constructed outboard of the existing one. A new tieback system will be constructed at Farragut Field inland of the existing for lateral stability. The project will provide critical structural protection for USNA against floods and sea level rise impacts.

The contract was awarded Sept. 16, 2022. All work will be performed at USNA in Annapolis, Md., and is expected to be completed by December 2024.
