U.S. Marines stationed on Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point attended the Single Marine Representative Seminar at Marine and Family Programs, MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina, Aug. 25, 2022. The seminar provides attendees knowledge of the Single Marine Program (SMP) and what their job as unit representatives will entail.
As SMP unit representatives, Marines and Sailors attend monthly council meetings and communicate resources and activities discussed to their chain of command and fellow service members. Representatives also provide feedback from the units single Marines to the Family Readiness Command Team, assist with training and outreach opportunities, and serve as a special staff representative that reports directly to the Sergeant Major or senior enlisted advisor.
In order to become a representative, Marines must reach out to their chain of command to be approved, receive an appointment letter, and attend the seminar.
